Apple REIT Seven, Inc. is a public, non-listed real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on the ownership of upscale, extended-stay and select-service hotels. Our hotels operate under the Courtyard® by Marriott®, Fairfield Inn® by Marriott®, Residence Inn® by Marriott®, SpringHill Suites® by Marriott®, Marriott®, Homewood Suites by Hilton®, Hilton Garden Inn®, TownePlace Suites® by Marriott® and Hampton Inn® brands. Our focus is on the ownership of high-quality real estate that generates attractive returns for our shareholders. Our portfolio consists of 51 hotels, containing a total of 6,415 guestrooms diversified among attractive markets in 18 states.

 

Apple REIT Seven, Inc. was formed on March 3, 2006 and formally began hotel operations in April 2006, with the acquisition of our first hotel, a 129-suite Residence Inn in the Houston West/Energy Corridor market. Throughout 2006 and 2007, the Company, through a public offering of shares managed by David Lerner Associates, Inc., a New York-based investment firm, continued to raise funds at a fast pace. In July of 2007, the Company reached its $1 billion goal of equity capital gross proceeds. The Company has diligently acquired properties and today our portfolio consists of 51 hotels, with 6,415 guestrooms, in 18 states.

 

The company was formed by Glade M. Knight, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Mr. Knight has been involved in the management of and investment in real estate ventures for more than 36 years. He also is the chairman and CEO of Apple REIT Six, Inc., Apple REIT Eight, Inc. and Apple REIT Nine, Inc.
